Ex SWA Motor Trolley fitted with 1913 BSA Car Body

Little is known about this unit except that it is believed to have come from the 2ft narrow gauge in the old South West Africa. It has one set of driving wheels and a four-wheel leading bogie. It is known that such trolleys throughout Africa were fitted with car type bodies for use by senior rail officials and a 1913 BSA 4 seater car body, unique in itself, is being fitted to the chassis. It is likely that a Toyota diesel engine and gearbox will be fitted as with the Wickham Mark 3. A turntable system is likely to be fitted under the frame so that it can be turned around on the rail to reverse its direction.
