Sandstone Bloemfontein workshops announce completion of O&K locomotive, No. 10311.
Locomotive O&K No. 10311 is now in the process of being painted.

After a restoration by an outside contractor some years ago O&K No. 10311 was never put into service due to some problems with authenticity. This locomotive was returned last year to the Sandstone Heritage Trust Steam Workshops in Bloemfontein where Lukas Nel and his team have refurbished the locomotive in accordance with its original specifications.
This work is almost complete and the steam test has been successfully completed. The loco still has to be painted.
