We are pleased to advise that Chris Janisch, the Chairman of HRASA, has been particularly supportive this month and has provided us with a good cross-section of information which clearly indicates that he is doing his best to make a difference. Our great concern is that Chris appears to be doing a lot of the work himself and it would be nice to see other HRASA Board members involved. In other words, they should perhaps be updating the marketplace and SIA in particular with specific details of what they are doing rather than leaving it to Chris to do it all.

The other interesting development has been the SANRASM issue. Many SIA members have expressed a great disquiet over the state of the assets at SANRASM near Krugersdorp. Many of these locos are extremely valuable. SANRASM is close to Millsite so it is an interesting coincidence that these two sites both remain of great concern to railway preservationists worldwide….
