Sandstone  Estates has entered into an agreement with PPC to acquire the rail infrastructure on the Loerie lime stone line in the Eastern Cape. This line was part of the Avontuur line from Port Elizabeth to Avontuur and in its heyday formed a major part of the traffic on the Avontuur line. 

Sandstone was in competition with a number of scrap merchants but succeeded in acquiring the infrastructure.
