RN 255 – Funkey 4WDH Underground locomotive3rd October 2006 Little is known about this diminutive loco which was bought at an Impala Platinum Mines auction along with a number of other ex mine locos. It is fitted with a Gardiner 3LW 3-cylinder diesel engine and has air brakes on the loco. In true vintage style it is started by means of a crank handle. Also finished in beige and red it is used for light shunting. It has just returned from Zach van Staden’s workshop for a major service. |
