Three guys who made a huge difference in terms of operational effectiveness at our recent April Steam Gala were Leon Myburgh (from our Bloemfontein workshops), Stephan du Preez, and Des Clarke. Stephan only joined us last year but both Leon and Des have been on the team for over 10-years now and started at Sandstone as school leavers. They have accumulated huge experience.
People who monitor our activities via our web site from all around the world must wonder who are the guys that make things tick at Sandstone. We have a number but these three are highly representative of the work ethic and the skill that is needed to operate ancient machinery.
